It’s been a busy few months here at Sublight. With our small team, we’ve been heads-down working on some really exciting projects.
Rezium Vertical Slice
The Rezium game has been our main focus, and the vertical slice version of the game is taking shape nicely. We’re aiming for a closed release to get community feedback in Q3 2025, and so far, things are tracking well. One of the big reasons we’re staying on course is the long pre-production phase we committed to early on. Taking that time upfront has helped us stay efficient, avoid scope creep, and keep the vision clear without getting pulled in too many directions.
A big highlight internally has been seeing the the UI/UX work coming together. Our dev and UIUX team have been pushing some cool designs that feel clean, intuitive, and immersive. We can’t wait to share more of this with the community when the time is right.
Comic 1 - Escape from Earth
Outside of the game build itself, we have also completed our first comic called Escape from Earth, illustrated by our Art Director, Aurele and written by our Creative Director, Matt. This is the start of a series that will explore the seven systems of Rezium, adding depth to the universe and giving players a sense of the world beyond their own base and strategic alliances. We see these comics as a way to expand on the politics, trade, and factions in a way that feels natural and engaging. There's a sneak peek of the first page below...
Gameplay with Trade and Politics
On top of that, there’s been plenty of planning and discussion going into how the politics and trade systems will shape gameplay. We want the multiplayer space simulation to feel alive, with real consequences and shifting dynamics that keep players invested.
So that's it for now. We'll have more updates on a more regular basis over coming weeks so be sure to tell your friends who might be interested to follow along by joining our mailing list via rezium.io/join
Until next time!
